RULES AND REGULATIONS
|
- General rules of the Farm Show apply where applicable.
- Please read and follow all rules for individual departments carefully.
- Entry Fees:
Youth Division: $.50 per entry
Adults: There is no fee for adult entries.
Cloverbuds: There is no entry fee for Cloverbud entries.
- The building will be cleared of all unofficial personnel during judging. The Homemaker’s Building will remain closed until all judging has been completed.
- Each exhibit must have been completed and/or prepared by the exhibitor since or during the 2009 Farm Show.
- Each entry must be properly tagged and labeled before it is entered in the Farm Show. Tags will be provided during registration.
- There are 5 age divisions:
Cloverbuds – ages 5-8 Adults – ages 19+
Junior Youth – ages 9-13 (as of 9/30/11) Special Citizens – a person who is mentally or physically challenged
Senior Youth – ages 14-18 (as of 9/30/11) or lives in a nursing home
For the youth division, the exhibitor’s age MUST appear on the entry tag. The tag should include a “J” for Junior Youth, an “S” for Senior Youth, a “C” for Cloverbuds, an “A” for Adults, or “SP” for Special Citizens. Ages are as of September 30, 2010. DEPARTMENTS ARE OPEN TO ANY YOUTH, BUT ONLY 4-H MEMBERS ARE ELIGIBLE FOR SPECIAL AWARDS.
- Each exhibitor may enter only one item per item number. (Example: You may not enter two items labeled as X-04: Painting by Pet). Exhibitors Choice can be used if your entry will not fit into any other class. A new class will be formed if there are 3 or more entries to justify a class.
- Hostesses are on duty in the Homemaker’s Building. They are available to receive questions about exhibits and for security purposes.
- Premiums for ages Junior and Senior Youth:
1st place - $2.00 2nd place - $1.50 3rd place - $1.00 4th place - $.50
Participation ribbons will be given to youth 5-8 years of age and Special Citizens, or any exhibit not judged by the judges. Items not judged will be noted on the entry tag. Adult ribbons will be Blue – 1st, Red – 2nd, White – 3rd. No premiums will be given to youth 5-8 division, to Special Citizens, or the adult division. Best of Show ribbons will be awarded at the judge’s discretion.
- Exhibits and premium money can be picked up after 5:00pm on Sunday, July 10, 2011. Exhibits picked up prior to 5:00pm will automatically forfeit premium money.

BEST OF SHOW ROSETTES
May be selected from awarded blue ribbons in each department and age division based upon: appearance, degree of difficulty, quality of workmanship, and flavor (if appropriate).
YOUTH POINTS ARE BASED ON THE FOLLOWING SYSTEM:
1st place-3 points 2nd-2 points 3rd-1
point 4th-1/2 point

All entries must be postmarked by June 18, 2011. The last day entry registration forms will be accepted is Sunday, July 3, 2011; however, you must call the Department Head if you need to make arrangements to submit your entry form on this date.
