RULES AND REGULATIONS
|
- Show is open to all youth, Ages 5-18. Membership as a Cloverbud, 4-H, or FFA member is encouraged.
- All poultry being shown, except market class, must be owned and in the care of exhibitor by April 30, 2011.
- Obtain entry forms from catalog or from Extension Office or www.cmrfarmshow.com and return complete with entry fee by
The livestock deadline. Late entries will be accepted up until July 6th. Call for info or on the 6th in person at the Rabbit & Poultry barn between 5 pm and 7 pm. Entries at Thursday check in will be allowed at the cost of $2 per bird. There is no entry fee for cloverbud exhibitors. Non-Market bird entries are limited to 25 birds per Exhibitor.
- All fowl will check in Thursday, July 7th, beginning at 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm or on Friday July 8th from 9 am to 11 am.
Fowl are entered at owner’s risk. Leaders have the right to refuse animals deemed unfit to show. Sick animals will not be
allowed in the showroom.
- Birds will be released from show on Sunday, July 10th from 4pm to 6 pm. Any birds left after this time become the sole responsibility of the owner, and supervision will not be provided. Please note: Coop out date may change in the event that the weather poses a threat to exhibits.
- All Exhibitors are encouraged to participate in the showmanship class. 4-H and FFA Exhibitors are required to participate in the showmanship class. There is no entry fee for this class.
- All birds must be pullorum tested. This is a state law requirement. Testing will be available during check in times. Untested birds are not to be placed in the show barn. There is a fee of $.50 per bird for testing, with a maximum of $5.00 per exhibitor. Testing certificates will be provided. 4-H and FFA members are asked to contact leader prior to show for advance testing of their flocks.
- There will be classes for all poultry, exotic, avian and waterfowl breeds. All breeds will be judged leniently according to the
APA/ABA standards. Birds hatched after January 1, 2011 are considered Pullets (P) & Cockerels (CC). Birds hatched before January 1, 2011 will be judged as Hens (H) and Cocks (C).
- Judging will take place on Friday, July 8, 2011 starting with showmanship at 2 pm. THE BIRDS WILL BE JUDGED FROM 3-6 PM, THE BARN IS CLOSED TO EXIBITORS AND VISITORS DURING THIS TIME.
- Entry fee is $1 per bird (Thursday checkin entries $2) and $1 per dozen eggs. There will be no day of show entries. No entry fee for Cloverbuds. Premiums are as follows: Showmanship Classes 1st - $12, 2nd - $10, 3rd - $8, 4th - $6, 5th - $4, 6th - $2, and all other classes; 1st - $2.00, 2nd - $1.50, 3rd - $1.00, 4th - .50, 5th and 6th ribbons.
Cloverbuds will receive ribbons as they do not compete and are not eligible for premium money.
- MARKET BIRD CLASS, Pen of 3. Additional Rules: 1) All birds will be obtained through the poultry leader.
2) Each exhibitor may purchase 5 chicks for each pen of 3 registered. 3) Limit of three pens per exhibitor. 4) An up to date Market bird Project book must accompany all market bird entries.
5) ALL interested exhibitors for this class must contact the poultry leader by April 30th 2011.

Please indicate sex and age following each class #. Ex. J-05-C = Large Barred Rock Cock or J-05-P = Large Barred Rock Pullet. If you enter a Large Barred Rock Cock in a Large Barred Rock Cockerel or Hen class it may be disqualified. Please call a leader if you need help filling out your entry form.
