General Rules and Regulations

  1. All 4-H, FFA, FCCLA livestock exhibitors must be members actively enrolled in 4-H, FFA, or FCCLA in Culpeper, Madison, Rappahannock County. (Active membership is determined by individual club/county policy.) The Homemaker’s Building is open to any youth who would like to exhibit.

  2. Junior exhibitors must be age 9 as of September 30, 2011, and not have had their 14th birthday prior to October 1, 2011. Senior exhibitors are 14 years or older on October 1, 2011, and not passed their 19th birthday by December 31, 2011. FFA members will be allowed to show and sell until the summer following the year they graduate from High School.

  3. ENTRY DEADLINE IS JUNE 18, 2011. Entry fees are listed under each department. A completed form with fee should be mailed to Cassandra Gore, 15269 Reva Rd, Reva, VA 22735 or in person at Culpeper Agricultural Enterprises: June 18th 9am-12noon.

  4. Entries must be on the enclosed official entry form. Additional copies may be obtained from your club leader, at your local Extension Office or on the cmrfarmshow.com web site.

  5. Any person entering more than one exhibit is requested to use the same name and full mailing address on all exhibits.

  6. Exhibitors must place exhibits at the location designated by department leaders.

  7. All animal, homemaking, arts and crafts, crops, and garden entries must be in place by the time stated on the schedule.

  8. Entries must not be removed from the grounds until the time specified in the Schedule of Events. Early or unauthorized removal of entries may result in forfeiture of premium money.

  9. Classes with only one entry will be awarded the placing at the judge’s discretion. Prize money will be given during the show or prior to end of the Farm Show.

  10. Each livestock exhibitor must supply his/her own feed and bedding. He/she must keep manure removed from aisle behind his animals and deposit it at a location designated to the rear of the building.

  11. All animals must meet health regulations and required in specific departments.

  12. No youth will be allowed to stay at night except for Saturday night with prior approval and proper supervision as stated by the Executive Board. Ground will close at 11 p.m. or one hour after the last show ends, whichever is later. The grounds will reopen at 5 a.m.

  13. The CMR Farm Show reserves the right to refuse any entry offered and to require removal from the grounds of any exhibit or animal, which the Fair shall for any reason, deems unfit or objectionable.

  14. The exhibitor assumes all risks of damage or loss either to person or property for any cause whatsoever. It is further expressly understood and agreed between the exhibitor and the CMR Farm Show that the said Farm Show incurs no liability or obligation to the exhibitor other than to permit the exhibitor to use the grounds or building for exhibits.

  15. Prize money will be pro-rated in case of deficit receipts.

  16. All written complaints or suggestions should be directed to the Department Leader within 24 hours of the incident. If complaint cannot be resolved, a $50.00 deposit will be required for Farm Show Board review. All valid complaints shall receive the $50.00 deposit returned in full and any complaints deemed invalid shall forfeit the $50.00 deposit. After Farm Show Board decision, parties may appeal to the Grievous Committee.

  17. The maximum number of animals that can be sold by an exhibitor may not exceed three (3), of which only one (1) can be a beef. Exhibitor must meet other department requirements.

  18. The Executive Committee will only consider petitions for exemptions from the show and sale in extraordinary circumstances.
